Swift Hotel Lodge

About Swift Hotel Lodge

A WhatsApp-native hotel management and booking platform, built for Cameroon.

We do not own, operate or manage any of the hotels listed here. Every property is an independent business, run by its own owner, setting its own prices and keeping 100% of what it charges. We visited each one, rated it, and built the way you book it — nothing more.

Travellers find and book hotels through WhatsApp. Hotels manage their bookings, availability and performance through the same number. No app to download, no website required on either side — this one is the shop window, not the product. Just WhatsApp.

Finding somewhere to stay in Buea usually means asking a friend, calling a number someone gave you, or turning up and hoping. The big booking sites list a handful of properties here, and most hotels and guest houses have no website at all. So we went and looked at them ourselves — 36 properties across 15 neighbourhoods so far, with photos, room prices and honest notes on each one.

Why this exists

Booking a room here fails in a chain, and each link causes the next.

Hotels miss bookings

Somebody messages at 9pm asking about a room. Nobody sees it until morning, and by morning they have booked somewhere else. The booking was never lost to a competitor — it was lost to a reply that came too late.

Bookings are scattered

One on WhatsApp, one from a phone call, one who walked in at midnight. No single place shows which rooms are actually taken tonight, which is exactly how the same room gets sold twice.

Travellers cannot see availability

Every other option makes you message and then wait, with no idea whether there is even a room. Most people give up and try the next hotel on the list.

That is where we started, not where we stopped.

Nobody has to be awake

Rolling out now

You can book almost every property here today — and a booking is a request the hotel answers, not a room we hold. That is the honest shape of it right now: you send the request, we make sure it reaches them, and nothing is charged either way. What is still rolling out is instant confirmation, which needs a hotel’s real room list — free, one conversation, entirely their decision. One property has handed it over, and its rooms confirm on the spot, at any hour, with a reference.

Two properties cannot be booked at all, and that is our gap rather than theirs: we never collected a mobile number on the visit, so a request would reach nobody. We would rather say so than send someone to a desk that is not expecting them, which is the one mistake worth avoiding above all others here. Everything else about those two — the photographs, the prices, the rating, the area notes — stays exactly where it is.

Here is what that looks like once a property is on it. There is no request and nothing to wait for — the room is checked, chosen, booked and confirmed in the chat, at two in the morning, on a Sunday, with the desk asleep.

What the bot does

  • Finds the hotel — by area, price, dates, party size or category
  • Answers questions about the property from what we recorded on the visit
  • Checks what is genuinely free for those exact nights
  • Picks a room, cheapest first, and holds it
  • Prices it night by night, with season rates and long-stay discounts
  • Tells the guest what a longer stay would cost, before they book
  • Takes the booking, confirms it, and sends the payment link
  • Refuses to sell the same room twice — the database itself will not allow it
  • Frees the room the morning the stay ends, with nobody touching anything
  • Tells the guest, in their own language, when anything changes
  • Cancels a booking when the guest asks, and puts the room back on sale

All that is left for reception

Three things — and only because a person standing in the building is the one who knows them.

  • Tell us about a walk-in — the one booking that never came through us
  • Flag a room that needs cleaning, which holds it back for tonight only
  • Flag a room out of service, which holds it back until you say otherwise

A short list is the point. Somebody at your property spends their day answering “do you have a room”. That job is now done by something that never sleeps, never misreads a date and cannot sell the same room twice.

That is why a listing says on request rather than booking you straight in — and why, on the two properties we have no booking line for at all, the bot says so up front instead of taking your details and leaving you waiting.

The chat stays open while you are there

Most of this site is built for the hour you spend choosing. The stay itself is longer and lonelier: you are in a building you have never been to, in a quarter you may not know, and the only person to ask is a receptionist who is busy. So the same WhatsApp conversation you booked in does two more things once you arrive.

Type stay

It reads back what we wrote down standing outside that exact building — where there is food, the nearest shop, a cash point, what a taxi from Mile 17 should cost, what the security is like. This is the survey doing its second job. It costs us nothing new and no other platform in this market holds it, because holding it means having been there.

Type problem

Whatever you need, in your own words, passed on exactly as you write it — a towel or slippers as readily as the water or the noise next door. Where a hotel has a chat open with us it lands on the phone their front desk actually uses, in seconds. Where they do not — which is most of them, today — we say so rather than pretending, and we take it up with the hotel ourselves.

We will not tell you it will be fixed. That is the hotel’s to do and it is not ours to promise. What we can say is that a person reads it while you are still in the room rather than a fortnight later in a review, and that it goes on that property’s record either way. After you leave we ask one question about how the place actually worked — the water, the power, whether you could sleep — and the owner sees that privately, with no name attached. It is how a hotel here finds out what guests will not say to their face.

How we verify a listing

About the photographs. Most of them are the hotel’s own, taken from the page where that hotel published them, with their permission. The rest are ours, from the visit. None is a stock photo and none is taken from another booking site. Ours replace theirs hotel by hotel as we photograph them — what has always been ours is the rating, the security note, the taxi fare and everything else on the page.

We go there

Every property on this site has been visited in person. We walk in, ask for the rooms and the real prices, and note what the street is like at night.

We record what matters

Room tiers and real prices, what the place has and what it does not, transport fares to the main road, nearby food, and how secure the compound looks.

We only publish what we can stand behind

A listing stays hidden until we have photos and confirmed details. Prices get corrected as they change — an out-of-date price helps nobody.

What a hotel gets, and what it costs

Nothing. Not the listing, not the bookings, not the front desk. A hotel pays us nothing at all today, and we do not take a cut of anybody’s room price — guests pay a small booking & hold fee on top of the rate, and that is what funds this.

Getting found, and getting booked

Free, with no end date.

  • Your own page, with photographs we take ourselves
  • Found by guests searching by area, price, dates and category
  • Booking requests sent straight to you on WhatsApp
  • Confirm or decline with one tap — no account, no password
  • Tell us what is free and guests see it live on your listing
  • Your real rooms on file, named and priced the way you sell them
  • Your monthly numbers: searches, views, bookings, nights
  • A booking link of your own to share, if you have no website
  • No commission on your room price. Not now, not ever.

Swift Desk — running the property

Also free. Your front desk, on your staff’s own phones.

  • Your rooms sold while you sleep — a guest books at 2am and wakes up with a confirmed room
  • Season rates: charge what Race of Hope week is actually worth, not your April price
  • Long-stay discounts, and we do the selling — a guest booking four nights is told what a fifth would cost
  • Today’s arrivals, every morning — who is coming, and the number to reach them on
  • Every request still waiting on you, in one list instead of scattered up a chat
  • One code your staff enter once, from their own phones — no app, no login, no training
  • They type “room 102 taken tonight” or “202 free” in WhatsApp, and the system knows
  • A grid that colours itself from your bookings — confirm a guest into 103 and 103 turns red
  • An arrival pass you copy in one tap, so the desk knows the guest before they walk in
  • What your guests asked for while they were still in the room — grouped, so three people asking about hot water reads as a boiler rather than as three Tuesdays
  • Every request written down against your hotel with the date on it, whether or not it reached anybody — so a pattern is something you can see rather than something you sense
  • The database itself refuses a second booking on the same room for the same nights

We will charge for this part one day, and the prices are published below rather than saved for the day it happens. Being listed and taking bookings stay free either way — that is not a promotion, it is how this works.

What Swift Desk costs

Nothing to pay today. Swift Desk is free for every hotel while we build it out, and you will be told well before that changes. These are the prices for when it does — published now so nobody finds out later.

Your listing, your bookings and your monthly figures stay free whatever you choose — being listed has no end date and never will. The first 14 days of Swift Desk are free too, and we take no cut of your room price on any plan.

We put your prices in front of people

Every hotel here already charges differently for Race of Hope week, graduation week and Christmas. What none of them could do was say so anywhere a guest looking for a room would see it — the price lived in a phone call.

Set the rate once, from your phone or your dashboard, and every booking through us quotes it automatically. Then we put the offers worth seeing in front of our WhatsApp channel followers — the food you serve, the weeks you have priced, the nights you would rather not have empty.

No fee for any of it, and nothing to sign. We choose what goes up rather than posting everything we are sent — a channel full of adverts is a channel nobody reads, which would make it worthless to you as well as to us.

Run a hotel or guest house in Buea?

We will come and photograph the property, record your room tiers and prices, and put you in front of people already looking for somewhere to stay. Everything here is free for hotels — no fee, no commission, no contract, and no end date. Your listing, your bookings, your arrivals, your guests' numbers, your monthly figures, live availability and Swift Desk — the front desk your staff run from their own phones — all of it, at no cost. We do not take a cut of your room price and we never will; guests pay us a small booking & hold fee on top of your rate, which is how this is paid for. You are not being sold anything.

📢 And when you have something on — a weekend rate, a pool party, a new wing, a gala — send us the flyer and we put the good ones on our WhatsApp channel, in your own words, with your name on it. Free, like the listing.
